Last Thursday Andrea and I went to have dinner with some great friends. Nhat from Langford Parkway Automotive and Christine from Padgett. It was a fabulous dinner and Andrea and I were introduced to homemade Vietnamese spring rolls, and boy were they yummy.
A bottle of wine in Nhat and Christine told us there was a feral litter of kittens and a mom across the road in a field and one had been hit by a car that morning.
A year ago Andrea and I adopted our boys, Sully and Maverick, from the Victoria Pet Adoption Society (VPAS) so I checked with them and they said they could take the kittens and mom if we could catch them.
Now raise your hand if you think chasing stray kittens around a blackberry bush at twilight after having a bottle of wine is a good idea… Well we caught three kittens that night, took them in to be checked, and brought them home to our home for fostering. Meet Elzie
and Bee (Blue eyed runt),
. Bub is the protector of the pack but Bee is fearless. 2 days later we caught their brother Gabe.
and all the siblings were reunited. Mom was caught the next day as well and taken in to be fixed. One of the neighbours who helped us catch them has offered to feed mom and take her in.
The Kitties are adapting very well, learning to play, gorging themselves on wet and dry food, and can’t wait to find themselves new homes. The will be ready to adopt in as little as 2 weeks so if you are looking for adorable kittens please visit the link above, and touch base with VPAS.
I’ll be updating the Kittie Chronicles here so check back often for more pictures, updates, and if I get really adventurous maybe even some videos…
